In the 2026 cycle, the Hokies successfully signed Saunders' teammate, three-star offensive tackle Buddy Wegdam, from Woodberry Forest. The 2026 class also boasts 10 in-state signees. Additionally, Richmond Trinity Episcopal four-star wide receiver Davion Brown, Virginia Beach Green Run four-star offensive tackle Thomas Wilder, Green Run three-star cornerback Zaevion Cleveland, Manassas Patriot three-star linebacker Mathieu Lamah, and Hopewell three-star defensive lineman T-Ron Richardson are among those committing to Blacksburg. Brown expressed his excitement about representing his state and playing early under Coach Franklin, praising the coach's ability to create a winning culture and their established trust and connection.
The 2026 class experienced a remarkable rise in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, moving up 100 spots and ultimately finishing at No. 29. Currently, the only commit in the Hokies' 2027 class is four-star EDGE Andrew Rogers from Greensboro, North Carolina.
